Epilepsy is a neurological disorder that affects millions of people worldwide and is characterized by recurrent unprovoked seizures. Though this disorder affects many, awareness in Trinidad and Tobago is still relatively lacking. The Seizure Awareness Foundation of Trinidad and Tobago (SAFTT), now in existence for five (5) years, is a non-profit organization that strives to educate, empower, encourage and advocate on behalf of persons living with epilepsy. We do this by giving lectures at schools and workplaces, hosting conferences and providing support services snd through first aid courses.
The Seizure Awareness Foundation of Trinidad and Tobago (SAFTT), in collaboration other Stakeholders, is hosting a Seizure Awareness outreach exhibition in commemoration of Epilepsy Awareness Day (Purple Day) on Tuesday 26th March, 2019 at the Brian Lara Promenade, Port of Spain from 8:00am- 2:00pm. Purple Day is observed worldwide on March 26th annually and gives an opportunity to build epilepsy awareness, educate on seizure causes, diagnoses, treatment, first aid and support and dispel myths associated with epilepsy. In this regard, we are requesting that you partner with us to make this a successful venture.
Your generous financial contribution will continue to go towards Epilepsy Education in Trinidad and Tobago. The first step toward change is awareness and we are counting on your assistance to help this outreach initiative be a success.
On behalf of the 40,000 persons in T&T living with Seizures. Thank you.
