My name is Seleste Herbert, I am a holder of a BSc in Biology, from the University of the Southern Caribbean. The exposure attained whilst pursuing my studies fuelled my passion for environmental education and awareness in tangent with sustainable development.
I am heavily involved in community service initiatives with governmental and non-governmental organisations. Participation in some initiatives include environmental awareness and research with Trinidad and Tobago Field Naturalists Club (TTFNC), and community and national service through the ROTARACT club of Port of Spain West. I was recently accepted to participate in 6th International Sustainability School carded for the duration of ten (10) days from July 28th 2019 to August 6th 2019 in the country of Nepal, making me the first individual from the English speaking Caribbean to be part of this program. During this ten (10) day program we will be going in depth into these plans, learning from experts, getting a practical training in the transformation and implementation process while also learning how local have adapted to a more sustainable lifestyle for locals themselves. This exposure to Nepal’s culture and sustainable practices, will equip me with much needed knowledge and experience which can be applied and implemented in Trinidad and Tobago as we strive to become a sustainable country.
Although I was privileged to secure a partial scholarship to cover some of the registration fees, I still have to cover a further USD2359.00 (TTD16, 513.00) I would humbly and gratefully appreciate any assistance that you can contribute, which will subsidise the cost and help in the realisation of my goal.
Thank you for your support in advance.
