Helping today for a better tomorrow!!

It’s no secret that the Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted our education system causing children to fall behind drastically and even develop poor learning and study habits. Parents and teachers have been crying out for help and we are seeing children turning to the darkside becaue they have little to no hope. In the light of this, I have created two programs to assist children in regaining focus through constant learning and revision. These programs are currently offered to children in Port of Spain & Environs with the hope of expanding to other areas. At present the programs are offered at the Independence Square Home-Work Center and my residential address. Unfortunately, we have to evacuate both my home and the Home-Work Center as the building and all surrounding houses will be demolished before the year is over.Taking this information into consideration the members of the team have decided to expand and continue our operation by renting a building located on Tragarete Road, Port-of-Spain.

In order to make this dream a reality we need your help! There is alot to be done and we are in need of the necessary equipment such as laptops,a photo-copier machines,desks, tables, chairs, books, white boards and personal tablets and noise cancelling headphones for online school purposes. In addition to the listed items, we want to offer a shuttle service for the kids to ensure their safety to and from the location which will require hiring/ purchasing a vehicle.

The Backpack Hero Program
The Backpack Hero Program is an after-school program designed to assist young children with healthy brain development and the development of life skills necessary for their educational and personal growth. This program is tailored for Lower Level Primary students and has a high success rate. The program focuses on creating good and strong neural pathways necessary for critical thinking by utilizing the brain’s plasticity skills.This program will provide stimulus and the necessary learning environment so that children can develop and improve their physical, cognitive, social and affective skills.
The subjects offered will include a combination of Character Development, Mathematics, Phonics, Vocabulary, Comprehension, Language Arts, Creative Writing and Reading. Additionally students will be exposed to Spanish & Sign Language.

The Future Stars Program
The Future Stars Program is an after-school program designed to assist Upper Level Primary students thoroughly prepare for the S.E.A Examinations and their transition into the Seondary School environment. Children enrolled in these sessions would receive a greater, in-depth and thorough revision of the Mathematics, Language Arts and Creative Writing syllabus and constant practice of S.E.A examinations. The Goals of the Future Stars Program are:

1. To assist children and young teens development excellent learning and study habits through constant revision and testing
2. To ensure every child reaches his/ her full potential by carefully and consistently monitoring progress and instilling strict measures
3. To help children develop a clear vision for their ideal future and develop unshakable courage
