My mother Marilyn John is in URGENT need of a knee replacement surgery on her right knee. Unfortunately, She's been waiting to have it done in the public health care system for over 6 years and to this day, she's been unsuccessful. On our most recent clinic visit, the public health care doctor, indicated that they were no longer doing that type of surgery due to covid and that unless she comes through emergency with a broken leg, it would be best if she got it done privately, because they have no intentions to resume anytime soon. We've previously tried raising funds towards the cause, but we fell short of our target substantially and same would have been depleted in ongoing therapy and medical expenses.
We are once again trying to reach our target goal of $72,500 TTD. It's extremely heartbreaking to see her with limited mobility and in constant, excruciating pain EVERY SINGLE DAY. She goes to sleep in pain and wakes up in pain. Most nights, she's up crying due to her discomfort. Nothing gives her relief, because there is absolutely no cartilage left in the knee, so it's bone on bone friction. Pain medication no longer work.
