To whom it may concern,
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Khalil Alleyne and I am a 19-year-old student-athlete and the 2019-2020 deputy head prefect of Fatima College, located in Woodbrook, Trinidad. I have just completed my CAPE (A-Level) exams at the end of July, to which I wrote 7 subjects. I plan to further both my academics and athletics abroad, namely in the United States of America, at Lincoln College in Illinois. I was recruited to Lincoln College to be a part of the Men's Soccer Team as well as to earn a BSc in Conservation Biology. At Lincoln College, the annual cost of attendance is USD $27,600. I was awarded a partial scholarship to Lincoln in the sum of USD $12,600 which still leaves most of the cost (USD$15,000) uncovered. With this degree, I hope to be a pioneer for a major environmental change in Trinidad and Tobago.
Unfortunately, I come from an economically unsound background which makes affording tertiary education unrealistic. As if things were not hard enough, in June of last year, my aunt died, leaving her three children behind to whom my parents now help care for in addition to myself and my three siblings. To make things worse, a few of my relatives lost their jobs due to the pandemic, so I am not able to rely on my family. As a result, I am reaching out to the public for help.
I am an academically and athletically gifted child, attaining a 4.00/4.00 high school GPA as well as distinctions in Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Technology and English Language which are coupled with AAB profiles in Geography, Chemistry and English Literature awarded by the Caribbean Examination Council. I am academically proficient and I am always eager to succeed. However, to quote the former American President Thomas Jefferson “I find that the harder I work, the more luck I seem to have.” So I am working hard and thus hopefully creating my own luck.
In closing, any assistance that can be provided would be greatly appreciated and persons wishing to contact me can reach me at khalil.alleyne@yahoo.com. No donation is to small and if you cannot donate, please share so that persons who may be able to assist, can do so.
God bless and thank you in advance.
