IMPORTANT NOTICE:
YOUR CARD STATEMENT WILL SHOW AS BLUE GURUZ INC.
Necessary Arts was conceptualized in Harlem, New York in the 90's and founded as the Necessary Arts School in Trinidad and Tobago in 2002. Our primary objective from inception is to promote social justice through the arts or as stated in our motto “Stimulating minds through artistic expression”.
We run extensive and comprehensive programs and workshops in the performing and visual arts for youths and adults, impacting the lives of so many.
Through the efforts of the artistic director, Penelope Spencer (who has been at the helm in Trinidad for over 15 yrs), Necessary Arts has molded and worked with many well know actors including Jaron Nurse, Regan Devignes, Kern Samuel, Rawkus, Corrine Brown, Jeanine Lee Kim and Kimberley Criton, and has been successfully involved in television ads, stage presentations and local tv shows such as the Ro'dey Show.
We are requesting assistance to keep our “home” on Dundonald Street. Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic we were forced to terminate classes and workshops at the beginning of March 2020, and as a result are unable to keep up with rental payments. As we continue to do our part by social distancing this can mean losing our location for classes.
We would greatly appreciate your assistance as we certainly want to keep our beloved home and continue our classes, which have surely been missed, when we are given permission to resume.
