Building on the community engagement, brand and achievements of 2018 & 2019, PrideTT aimed to take 'pride' to the next level - v2.0 for 2020! The team leveraged digital and online tools to host over 25 online events, and create sustainable community development platforms that will result in genuine positive change to the lives of LGBTQI persons. This is in part, was accelerated by the exigencies of C19, but also because of global digital convergence! Our theme for 2020 was #BeEmpoweredByOurPride - which is a call to action to empower yourself with the 'pride' within you but, simultaneously through the work of 'PrideTT'. Your investment will support PrideTT's capital investment in technology and equipment required to create offerings such as an online LGBTQ Business Development and Incibation Hub; LGTBQI Employment Matchmaking; Data Collection. Part proceeds will also go to the Sasha Fierce Memorial Fund which is being executed in partnership with TransCoalition of T&T.
This will complement the work of NGOs and CBOs who have been providing support services for decades but, are constrained by limited capacity, and foreign grant conditionalities. PrideTT is planning to continue to mobilise our Community and collate data that will be positioned to the political directorate. In this way, we can inform government policy that will in part create the enabling ecosystem for authentic 'empowerment'. We look forward to your support! by Rudolph Hanamji Co-Chair, PrideTT
