With the year 2020 making its mark on the planet in a way that will live forever in our memories, many of us would have heard about, but possibly forgotten, the devastating earthquake of 2010 that rocked Haiti leaving a trail of destruction that shocked the world. In Trinidad and Tobago we saw that one of the most vulnerable groups affected was the children, our hearts reached out and HaiT&T was born.
The HaiT&T Foundation has undertaken to rebuild the structures that housed 240 girls within the province of Port au Prince named Internat Sainte Madeleine. To date we have provded care homes for housing as well as educational and vocational facilities all on the same compound. Beyond just shelter, sustainability has been a major consideration in construction with solar systems and renewable water management being included to enable coexistence and harmony with the already challenging environment.
We NEED your generous help. The children of Internat Sainte Madeleine have moved into their new homes but we need to ensure that developments are completed such as;
- A well for additional water
- Food preparation and bakery facilities to sustain the children
- Vocational programmes to help with their productive integration into society
Please Give Today ...every little bit will go a long way.
