Hello!

We are a group of animators and digital creators working towards our dream project: Creating a 2D short film titled: "The Infinite Salami"

SYNOPSIS:
Set in a futuristic world, a mother living in a poverty-stricken environment tries her best to divide the last pack of salami between her and her family of 6. She first divides 1 salami into pieces and hides it in 2 slices of bread. Dinner time becomes an exciting time because you never know which bite will lead to a delicious piece of salami with ketchup. However, the youngest becomes absolutely discontented with cheap dry meals and decides to devour all the salami secretly. However, it makes the mother very depressed as she struggles to keep her children content under harsh circumstances. The youngest becomes guilt-stricken and now must find a way to get a new pack of salami.

WHO ARE WE?
This sprightly team of digital creators consists of:
Gershon Ayum, Jahmaal Jeffery, Alanis Ramdeen

WHAT DO WE NEED?
Over the next year and a half, our project will cost a total of $8500 to create this 2D short animation film.
The funds are allocated for merchandising expenses and creation of s short story book.

We hope to bring this beautiful story to life!

Thoughts and Inspiration for the film:
Ever wondered what would happen if you end up in a cycle of generational poverty while the rest of the world is advancing?
The system we live in is rigged to benefit the upper class of our society. You can't have an aching back and go into a furniture store to purchase a hybrid matress that's $4000 with soft, body conforming foam if you're rent is also $4000.
You can't be a destitute person and sign up for health insurance, life insurance or savings. These things will cost you a lot especially where there is rent, bills, food and electricity to pay for.
You can't be impoverished and depressed, a professional therapist cost $500 per hour and a half. What if you need weekly therapy? YIKES! That's 2000 dollars, money the low-paid does not have to spare.
This story portrays a family who is struggling to survive due to that cycle and whilst technology advanced higher, the lower they were pushed back in society. The mother tries her best to put on a smile and make everything seem okay but even she is struggling as well.
The themes we are tackling with this short film are: Poverty, generational curses, classes of society, family and love.
