AFROVIVE is a monthly video podcast that celebrates the African Diaspora through music and culture. It is created and hosted by DJ Honey Colada in partnership with Africa Film Trinidad & Tobago. The video podcast highlights and celebrates the deep-rooted relationship between Africa and its diaspora which includes the Caribbean. Our mission propels us toward creating a digital space where people of all backgrounds can unite, discuss, and explore the aesthetics and various forms of Afro-Caribbean expression that have impacted culture all over the globe.
The podcast features afro-inspired livestreamed sets from local DJs and guest interviews from Caribbean persons in film, fashion, art, music, culture, and entertainment industries. As such, our main goal is to contribute sustainably to the arts and entertainment industry in Trinidad and Tobago by creating job opportunities, training, and experience for creatives which have been adversely impacted by the economic reality of a pandemic.
