Hi everyone,

I’ve decided to put my pride aside and ask for help. I am 24 years old and a struggling single mother of one child. I am currently in my last year, second semester, doing my BA in Human Resource Management.

It’s been one year since I’ve been living on my own and things have been going downhill. I have officially hit rock bottom here. I lost my job a month ago and I have zero funds to get food items as of three weeks ago. If I do happen to get a new job, unfortunately I would not be able to travel back and forth to work; because as I mentioned earlier, I have zero funds. I do not have a support system; i.e. no family or friends that can help me in the interim. I only have myself and I am severely malnourished and dehydrated.

Losing my job really set things back for me; as I was supposed to apply for a loan to finally purchase a fridge and stove after making 6 months with the organisation I was employed with. For an entire year my son and I have been surviving on fast food. Now that I am unemployed, cup noodles were keeping us afloat.

I received a one month’s notice from my Landlord as I am unable to continue paying my rent. So aside from having no food, I will be homeless soon. I have no one to turn to for help. My bills are due, rent is overdue and I am starving. I cannot even think about finishing my degree because I owe my College $7000 in tuition.

I am under a lot of stress and my depression is damaging my physical and mental health. The hardest part is trying to look for a job but not having a dollar in my name to travel to the new job once successful with the interview.

I am asking for enough funds to help me remain in my apartment for another month, get food and have a little extra for transportation/commute. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I can be reached at 3682106.
