On 8th May 2023, my family home in San Juan, Trinidad was completely gutted, leaving my elderly parents, my two sister in laws one who is currently pregnant, my siblings, 2 year old niece and my 5 year old daughter and I homeless. We lost all our belongings. We are grateful that no one was injured. However our lives remain in disarray until we rebuild. We are starting from scratch as our savings are depleted. Please help us with a jump start to rebuild our home and our lives.

It's been a few weeks and we are still split up however we have partially found temporary refuge for three (3) months with the help of the gov't rental assistance grant. However, after the three months we need to look at a longer short term arrangement until we get to start rebuilding. On behalf of my family, I want to express how grateful we are for all the generosity given so far and we humbled by your continuing support.

Since the fire we have removed all metals and scrap iron as well as demolished the remaining walls that were cracked and falling. We started compiling the rebel in small heaps so it can probably be reused in the retaining wall when we start re-building.
