After being diagnosed with Thyroid Carcinoma in December 2024 Cassandra had to undergo 2 surgeries back to back at Port of Spain General Hospital for a Total Thyroidectomy. She was then referred to Oncology at St James Medical Complex where she was advised to do a Radioactive Iodine Scan costing $20,000. because it wasn't available in the public sector, she also did privately 2 CT scans, numerous blood tests, ultrasounds and a mammogram.

The results of all these scans and procedures confirmed that her cancer metastasis and she now needs Radiation, a Radioactive Iodine Ablastion to be exact which again has to be done privately and is costing close to $60,000.
