My name is Micheala Le Gendre and for as long as I could remember I wanted to pursue a career in Forensic Science. Over the years my passion continued to grow for the field but the initial motivation to study Forensic Science, to “help make a difference in Trinidad and Tobago,” remains the same.

After successfully completing a Bachelor of Science with cum laude honours at the University of Tampa and a Master of Science in Forensic Science with Distinction at the University of Strathclyde, my heart has been drawn to enter into the field of research as I aspire to make a contribution to the field that may one day get me to my goal of making a difference in Trinidad and Tobago with regards to solving and deterring crime.

 I was recently offered a place in the PhD in Pure and Applied Chemistry program at the University of Strathclyde where my research would be Forensic Chemistry-focused and also awarded a competitive scholarship which covers the full cost of my tuition for the duration of my PhD. There are however others financial obligations that need to be met for but even with personal efforts I still fall short of the total funds required. As such I am appealing to the generosity of anyone whose heart may be moved to help me reach my goal.
