Gillian Moore is a writer, cultural worker, songwriter, calypsonian, and recent graduate of UTT's Master of Arts in Carnival Studies program. She worked as a print journalist for more than two decades before working in corporate communications. She earned a Post-Graduate diploma from UWI's Arts and Cultural Enterprise Management (ACEM) program and lectured in Visual Communications at UWI’s Open Campus. Gillian founded the Songshine Open-Mic Series in 2005, creating a stage for scores of emerging creatives. She has been acepted by the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, as a full-time Cultural Studies PhD candidate in the Faculty of Humanities and Education. However, she does not have the funds to support her studies.
