I have been Medically Boarded and Retired from
the Teaching Service approximately three years now,
this after working for 35 years there.
I have yet to receive any Pension and Gratuity for same.
I am ill and without an income and now face being evicted for none payment of rent.
My Landlady has been an angel putting up with no rent for the past six months. But she has her mortgage to pay and cannot afford to hold this strain any longer.
And I am not eligible for interim Pension as I am not 60 years as yet.
I am also not eligible for any of the Government Grants as I did not lose my income due to Covid 19.
I am also unable to even purchase any medicine that I have to take daily.
My prescriptions expired and I will now have to get a doctor to write me a letter to rejoin the Cardiac Clinic @ SFGH which means I have to pay a doctor to do such out of non existent funds.
Ministry of Education and the Medical Board took three years to complete my file for Pension and Gratuity. It is finally at Comptroller of Accounts in Treasury, where I have been informed today that it will now take a further four to six months.
This is my last resort as I am honestly no longer able to do this for much more.
