Help Elton “Mosquito Man” Boreland Save His Remaining Sight
My name is Elton Boreland, affectionately known as “Mosquito Man,” and I hail from the beautiful parish of St. Ann, Jamaica. I have always been a hardworking, resourceful, and independent man who believes in using my skills and talents to make an honest living.
For many years, I worked as a farmer in the community of Claremont, St. Ann, planting various crops to support myself. In addition to farming, I used my creativity and craftsmanship to make and sell small items such as barstools, kites, brooms, graters, and other household items. I also had the opportunity to participate in the Tastee Competition, where I proudly represented myself under the stage name “Mosquito Man.”
Unfortunately, about eight years ago, my life took a devastating turn when I began experiencing problems with my eyesight. One morning, I woke up with a strange sensation in my eyes. The things I looked at appeared distorted, and colours no longer looked the way they should. Because I lacked the financial resources to seek proper medical attention, I delayed visiting a doctor. By the time I was finally able to get medical care, I had already lost sight in my left eye.
Since then, life has become increasingly difficult. Losing my sight in my left eye has affected my independence and my ability to earn a living through the farming and small businesses that once helped me provide for myself. To make matters worse, I often experience severe pain and discomfort, and my remaining eyesight in my right eye is now deteriorating. I am deeply concerned that, without proper medical treatment, I may eventually lose my sight completely.
Despite these challenges, I have not given up. I am still willing to work, and I continue to do whatever I can to support myself. However, living with impaired vision has placed a tremendous burden on my life, making it much harder to meet my basic needs and maintain my independence.
Today, I am humbly reaching out for your kindness, prayers, and financial assistance. I am appealing to anyone who can help me access the medical care I desperately need to protect my remaining eyesight. Your support would mean more to me than words can express. Any contribution, no matter how small, would make a meaningful difference in my journey toward receiving treatment and improving my quality of life.
If you are unable to contribute financially, I would be equally grateful if you could share my story with others who may be willing to help. Every act of kindness brings me one step closer to the hope of receiving the care I need.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read my story, for your compassion, and for any assistance you are able to provide. May God richly bless you for your kindness and generosity.
