My name is Sarika Swarath. My family and I reside in the twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago. We are currently in need of your help for our son James Jared (JJ) Tamby who was born on 8th November 2022 and diagnosed with congenital glaucoma at birth.

Congenital glaucoma is a rare, serious and incurable condition that requires urgent medical attention through multiple surgeries, lifelong medication and medical care. The first year's cost of these procedures are approximately TT$120,000.

If this is not dealt with urgently, the optic nerve is irreversibly damaged, which causes permanent blindness.

Urgent surgery is therefore needed to ensure that baby JJ does not become permanently blind and for him live as closest to possible a normal, healthy and comfortable life. This is not available in the public health care system.

Baby JJ was scheduled for his third surgery one month ago, however, because of insurmountable medical bills we have had to postpone it. His elder sister was born with the same condition and this has put us in a difficult place.

We are kindly asking for your support in this campaign so that baby JJ can have the remaining two surgeries as soon as possible, in order to save his eyesight and live as close as possible to a normal life.
