Founded by Kory Mendez and Anton Williams, MW Productions is a performing arts production company which aims to fuse industry-leading networks with creative talent to give rise to action projects that preserve and transform performance culture in Trinidad and Tobago. Our first action project is “Hold On : The Story of Resilience”.

Hold On : The Story of Resilience is a virtual fundraising concert in aid of tuition expenses for both Kory Mendez and Anton Williams. Kory Mendez is currently pursuing a Masters in Mediation Studies and Mr. Anton Williams is currently pursuing his Post Graduate Diploma in Tourism Development and Management both at the University of the West-Indies.

The onset of the Novel Coronavirus (“COVID-19”) and the rippling effects it has had on our economy and more specifically, the changes associated to the Government’s Assistance for Tuition Expenses Programme (“GATE”) has presented a major challenge to us as we pursue post graduate education. As a consequence, we have decided to take our future into our own hands by financing our dreams through hosting this musical concert to assist in defraying the cost of our tuition expenses.

Hold On is a musical production which narrates and renews the resilience of the human condition through four segments; 1) the resilience of the enslaved, 2) resilience in the face of COVID-19, 3) the resilience of the Human Spirit, and 4) the resilience of our Trinbagonian Spirit. The concert will cycle through genres such as Negro Spirituals, Musical Theatre, Calypso and Soca paying tribute to those who have stood as vanguards of culture. The musical event will include the showcasing of voices (solos and ensembles), Steel Pan and theatrical narration.
