My name is Danielle Reyes, I am from Trinidad and Tobago. I am a medical student at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill campus. I am seeking financial assistance. For as long as I can remember it has always been my dream to become a medical doctor. I was always fascinated with the human body but above all, I truly enjoy helping people. The thought that I can eventually use knowledge and skill in order to give someone another chance at life, both thrills and amazes me. It is my desire to save lives - not just those who can afford the treatments - but also those who cannot. My heart has always been with the less fortunate since they are denied many chances and opportunities that others may have.

Unfortunately, I am unable to sustain this journey that I am on due to financial struggles. I come from a household of six (6) people, including myself. Two of these people work, but only the earnings of one of them, my mother, is used to support my brother and me. My father is a pensioner, and my mother works as a cleaner for TTD(2000.00) per month. After the bills are paid, there is little left to financially provide higher education for my brother and me.

Raising funds to pay the full tuition at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill campus will be an arduous task, putting my family's already precarious financial situation in jeopardy. I humbly request your consideration of my situation. I may have reached a stopping block early in my journey, but I am a determined young woman and refuse to let this stop me from pursuing my dreams. It is my sincere desire, to complete medical school and become a successful physician.
