My name is Daniel Dasent-Thomson, and I am currently a member of the Trinidad and Tobago National Taekwondo Team. I am currently hard at work preparing for the 2024 Pan American Olympic Qualifiers, which will be held from April 9th–10th in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, in which the top two athletes earn a spot at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Before attending the Olympic Qualifiers, I intend on competing a minimum of two times to gauge where I am and what needs to be improved before such a critical tournament. Alongside these tournaments, I will also be going to a training camp with the Suriname National Taekwondo Team to prepare for the Olympic Qualifiers.

Attending these tournaments and training camps, along with obtaining new training gear, is extremely expensive and therefore requires some assistance in being able to make history for Trinidad and Tobago at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Upon qualifying for my spot at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, I would be part of a very small group of Caribbean taekwondo athletes that qualified for the Olympics. Obtaining a gold medal at the Olympics will be tremendous for Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean in general, as no one in the region has ever done this. I dream of becoming a pioneer for taekwondo in the region with my success at the Olympics.

Any funds raised will go directly to assisting the national coach and myself to keep our dream of Olympic gold alive.
