Dear Community,

We are requesting your generous support to cover the cost of airfare for 9 students of Queen's Royal College (Trinidad and Tobago) to attend the prestigious Penn Relays.

Our young men have been performing exceptionally well in the area of track and field locally, and we believe that participating in the Penn Relays will provide them with a unique opportunity to showcase their talent on a larger stage. The Penn Relays (also Penn Relays Carnival) is the oldest and largest track and field competition in the United States, hosted annually since April 21, 1895 by the University of Pennsylvania at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.

To make this trip possible, we are in need of a total of $60,000TTD in donations by April 20th, 2023. Your contribution, no matter how small, can make a significant difference in helping our students reach their goal.

The College has a long and distinguished history of academic and leadership excellence. Equally well known, is the ‘Royalian’ reputation of producing exemplary athletes who have created history representing Trinidad and Tobago. Olympians Wendell Mottley, Richard Thompson, Jehue Gordon and the late Deon Lendore are but a few examples of ‘Royalian’ athletes, who have done their College and country proud by their excellent performances. Most of our athletes have had their genesis of world-class competition at the Penn Relay Festival, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.

Participating in the Penn Relays offers numerous benefits to our students and our country, including:

Exposure to top-notch competition: The Penn Relays is one of the most prestigious track and field events in the world, attracting athletes from all over the globe. Competing against some of the best athletes in the world will provide our students with an opportunity to hone their skills and gain invaluable experience.
Networking opportunities: Our students will have the chance to meet and interact with coaches, recruiters, and other influential individuals in the sports industry. This could potentially open up doors for future opportunities in the world of sports.
Building confidence and character: Participating in such a high-stakes event requires a great deal of discipline, hard work, and perseverance. Our students will develop a sense of confidence and character that will serve them well in all areas of life.
National Pride!
