Hi Everyone! My name is Anna-Lise Nanton, and I am one of the 17 top finalists for Miss World Trinidad and Tobago. For my Beauty with a Purpose Project, I have founded the initiative "Sisters Strong," a Women Empowerment Project through Sport and Fitness.
Unlocking Potential Through Sport and Exercise
Sport and exercise play a crucial role in the development of girls, children, and communities. They are not just about physical health; they foster teamwork, resilience, and leadership skills that last a lifetime. By participating in sports, young people learn valuable lessons in discipline, perseverance, and the importance of setting and achieving goals. These benefits extend beyond the individual, strengthening the fabric of our communities by promoting inclusivity, unity, and a sense of belonging.
The aims of Sisters Strong are to:
- Empower women and girls through sport and fitness
- Showcase and educate others on the holistic benefits of Sport and Fitness
- Provide equal opportunities for girls to participate in Sport
- Foster a strong community dedicated to supporting and uplifting girls and women.
As part of my initiative, I have been hosting free beginner touch rugby sessions with the Standard 3 to 5 girls at Santa Cruz RC Primary School in partnership with national rugby player, Coach Blossom Stewart, and the School of Rugby club.
I have started this campaign to raise funds to buy new sports equipment for Santa Cruz RC Primary School and the School of Rugby. These institutions are more than just places for physical activity—they are sanctuaries where children and community members can come together, learn, grow, and thrive. With your support, we can ensure that the students of Santa Cruz RC primary school and the athletes at School of Rugby continue to share in the transformative power of sport and exercise. Your contribution will help provide the necessary resources for these young athletes to continue their journey towards personal and communal excellence.
Join us in making a difference. Together, we can foster a healthier, more vibrant community through the power of sport.
Please note all proceeds will be split between and go directly to Santa Cruz RC primary school and the School of Rugby for purchase of required sports equipment.
