The St. François Girls' College Alumnae association in conjunction with our alumnae located in North America, are raising funds to support our beloved Alma Mater – St. François Girls’ College.

St. François Girls' College, which was originally called Belmont Girls' Secondary School when first established in 1962, is the only all girls Government Secondary School in Trinidad and Tobago. The school was often referred to as St Francois Girls' High School. In 1965 the name was officially changed to St François Girls' College. It was then the only all girls Government Secondary School in Trinidad and Tobago.

As a St. François Girl, you are part of a tribe, a family, a sisterhood of women who are strong, fearless and continue to break barriers locally, regionally and internationally.
Most importantly – a tribe of all rounded and strong women! As per our mantra, we are...STRONGER TOGETHER!

To ensure we continue the legacy that was left for us in our time, we are seeking assistance for our little sisters, and thought this was a good avenue to capture sisters far and wide!

The school was affected by two break-ins within one month and is also in dire need of upgrades and repair. Below are the details of what is presently required as per information received from the Administration of the College. A number of projects have been identified for enhancing the infrastructure of the school thereby making it more conducive to teaching and learning. These include:
  • Painting - All 16 classrooms in Block B, the outer walls along Block B, the toilets, the staircases in Block B at a cost of roughly $12,000.00.
  • Wall at the back Music Rm at a cost of $20,000.00 to protect pans stored there and to add another layer of security to those rooms (PE & Music)
  • AC Units servicing, repairs and 3 units to replace at a cost of $40,450.00.
  • Roof on F&N around $10,000.00.
  • Building of Stage $20,000.00
  • Fixing tiles in Hall – to be done
  • Toilets $2000.00
  • Changing of lights in Hall – $2500.00
  • Miscellaneous (Broken doors, windows etc) – $5000.00
  • Metal cages around projectors in prefab – 4 in total – $3000.00
  • Changing of locks on twenty rooms (security reasons) -$4000.00
At this time, the status and amount of funding allocated to the College by the Ministry of Education is unknown to the Alumnae.

Thanking you for your generous contributions.
