Navigating through the developmental stages especially for young persons can be stressful. This fact is intensified for persons who were either born and / or contracted HIV. As a HIV positive young person, the challenges that are often experienced includes:

• Maintaining adherence to their Antiretroviral treatment
• Stigma and Discrimination
• Unemployment and underemployment
• Social Displacement
• Managing Relationships
• Managing their Sexual and Reproductive Health
• Lack of Psychosocial Support
• Lack of Support

The Trinidad and Tobago Community for Positive Women (TTCW) a registered NGO in Trinidad and Tobago and the local chapter for ICW Global, have been strong advocates for women, girls and youth (males and females) and have taken a keen interest in providing advocacy and support to young people especially those who were born HIV positive.

This has become the cornerstone of our work, in that, we recognised the gap that exist for this cohort of HIV positive young people. One of such gaps is the need to provide safe spaces for positive young persons to not only socialize but to foster empowerment that will be a catalyst towards them leading successful lives.

Our Goals for this Campaign are To raise Funds to Execute the Following:

• To implement our holistic program which would include, providing specialized training, psychosocial support, medical care, and case management
• To help develop and empower positive young persons to become more active in advocating on issues that impact them. This will be useful in helping to influence research, policy development, programmatic and legal reforms relating to care, treatment and support services for HIV positive young persons.

Programs and Services Includes

• A Safe Space Hub
• A support group and mentorship program where we provide lifeskills and psychosocial support to PLHIV especially those former residents of Cyril Ross Nursery
• Case Management
