Help bring Caribbean music to the world stage!
My name is JOHN G.—a Caribbean Folk, Reggae, and Soul artist from Trinidad and Tobago. My music blends the "Reggae Revival" style of artists like Chronixx, Mortimer, Protoje, Jesse Royal, and Kabaka Pyramid with the timeless "Roots Reggae" of Bob Marley, infused with the heartfelt storytelling of folk and singer-songwriter traditions. Through my songs, I share stories of love, resilience, consciousness, and Caribbean culture—messages that are more important now than ever.
This year, I have been invited to perform on the Pavillon Afriques stage during the Cannes Film Festival 2025!
Why This Matters
Pavillon Afriques is a prestigious platform at Cannes that highlights and promotes the works of filmmakers and creatives from Africa, the Caribbean, and their diaspora. For the first time, May 21, 2025, has been designated as Caribbean Day—a celebration of our region’s contributions to global Black film and entertainment.
As a featured performer, I will bring the spirit and sound of the Caribbean to an audience of filmmakers, industry professionals, and media from around the world. In addition, I will participate in a panel discussion on the evolving sound of West Indian music in film, from soundtracks to music videos to feature films.
This is more than just a performance—it’s a chance to showcase Caribbean creativity on a global stage, to build new opportunities for our artists, and to open doors for future collaborations in film, television, and beyond.
How You Can Help
To make this journey possible, I need your help in raising USD $5,000 (TTD $35,000). Your donations will help me cover the essential costs:
✔ Airfare – Getting to Cannes, France
✔ Accommodation – A place to stay during the festival
✔ Ground Transportation – Travel to and from event venues
✔ Per Diem – Meals and daily expenses
✔ Accreditation – Official festival access

Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to making this dream a reality. By supporting this campaign, you are not only helping me, but also amplifying Caribbean music and culture on one of the world’s biggest stages.
