My name is Lyndon Connor, and I am a 35 year old father of two amazing children. In February 2025, I was diagnosed with a perianal fistula, after fighting unimaginable and excruciating pain for years. For context, I have been at odds with an elusive disease that has resulted in me having multiple surgeries over the years, to drain and remove internal abscesses that doctors in the public health system could not find the cause of. Five surgeries later, I am still suffering daily in agony, and although the public hospital has finally diagnosed the fistula, I have not been given any treatment options or even a timeline for when treatment may be available. I am aware that my only treatment option is surgery, and my symptoms get worse with every passing day. I have tried to fight it for so long, and it has curbed my ability to finish school and find decent, long term employment.
