I am reaching out to you today to ask for your support. My name is Ingrid Superville, a 55-year-old single mother and former Secondary School Teacher who has faced many challenges over the past few decades. After losing my job due to Panic Attacks in 2013, I lost all my savings and struggled to find steady work. (I was diagnosed with Panic Attacks in 2005. I get Panic Attacks when commuting or when I am travelling in a car).

Despite my best efforts, including offering Piano Lessons at home (from 2013 to 2018) and developing mobile apps through my home-based business called Chipo Computer Solutions, I have yet to achieve financial stability. I have mobile apps for sale on the Amazon AppStore, where I’ve been trying to build a business since 2017. Currently, I operate Chipo Computer Solutions from a small desk in my bedroom, which makes it difficult to focus and grow. I hope to offer online High School Mathematics tutoring, using that income to support both my business (for advertising and app improvements) and our future rent.

My son, who graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics in 2019, has been my greatest support. However, his temporary Trainee Teaching Position with the government of Trinidad and Tobago (under the On The Job Training (OJT) programme) recently ended, and he is now seeking employment. We live with my elderly mother in a small space, and it is our dream to move into a two-bedroom apartment (or house or townhouse) where we can establish a home office and offer online Mathematics Tutoring in the living room.

To achieve this, I am seeking to raise TT $40,000 (about US $5,890) to cover five months of rent and repay a loan I took out for a Chipo Computer Solutions ad campaign. This will give us the breathing room to build a steady stream of tutoring students and promote my mobile apps effectively.

I understand that some people may hesitate to donate, wondering if I will end up in the same situation after the five months of rent is covered. I want to assure you that your support will lay the foundation for a long-term plan. I am 55 years old and unable to qualify for a mortgage, but I am determined to secure a permanent home through my work. One of my apps costs US $1.99 on the Amazon AppStore. If I can create a viral advertisement, I could potentially sell enough apps to buy a house outright. A suitable three-bedroom home in Trinidad and Tobago costs around TT $2,800,000 (about US $400,000), meaning that if 200,000 people purchase my app, I can achieve this goal. In our own home, I could finally set up a proper office for Chipo Computer Solutions and continue tutoring students in a stable, comfortable environment.
