Help Save Christopher’s Life

Christopher Bruce our loving son is only 13 years old with dreams of becoming an internationally renowned chef, however, has been diagnosed with Liver Cirrhosis and Portal Hypertension secondary to an Autoimmune disease.

This diagnosis means that Christopher's liver is not functioning as it should and cannot perform its job effectively impacting his ability to live a happy normal life like other children his age.

In order for Christopher to survive and have a fulfilling life he must have a Liver Transplant. Unfortunately Liver Transplants are not available in Trinidad and Tobago or the Caribbean and as such Christopher must travel overseas to an advanced multispecialty medical facility for treatment.
Through his local paediatric hepatologist, Christopher was referred to the highly rated liver transplant program at Apollo Indraprastha in New Delhi, India and has been accepted for treatment.

Christopher’s mother Kimberly has undergone all medical tests and is a suitable donor match for the liver transplant which is quoted at a cost of $85,000 USD or $570,000 TTD.
Due to Christopher’s current medical condition, the family hopes to have him leave for treatment on July 26th 2022 and will also have to cover the cost of two return airfare tickets at a price of approximately $23,000 TTD each.

Christopher will get coverage of approximately $175,000 TTD for surgical expenses through his mother's employer health insurance plan if she can get him the treatment he needs in time.

This means that the family must raise $500,000 TTD to cover the rest of the medical expenses, return airfare and cost of living/ meals for the 3-4 month stay in India during treatment.
