My name is Jaidon Vincent and I'm 18 years old, and I would like to share my story in hopes that those who could assist in my plight will have a better understanding of why I need the public’s assistance. A few months after I was born, I was diagnosed with congenital glaucoma, a rare eye condition that has significantly affected my vision. In an attempt to “keep my lights on”, I have undergone so many surgeries that I have lost count. Most recently, I had an Ahmed Valve installed in my right eye and initially, it was healing well, although with some noticeable swelling. My mother and I were continuously assured by my doctors that there was nothing to worry about and that the eye would heal, and be returned to a state of normalcy.
IT DIDN'T!!
As the months went on, what appeared to be growth developed. It was, (and is) so large to the point where my eyes are unable to close properly, and from time to time I'm caused great discomfort. As someone from a low-income household, I have exhausted available resources following my last surgery, as such, I am now seeking the public’s assistance to help cover the cost of a medical procedure that will resolve the issue I am now facing. The total cost of the procedure/surgery amounts to $31,00 TTD dollars, and in addition to eliminating the growth, or what I later learnt was a cyst, it will also lessen symptoms stemming from my glaucoma, but most importantly aid in preserving the limited vision I have remaining.
