Hi everyone my name is Gillian Seales-James I am a 38y mother of 2. For the last 9 months I have been experiencing bloating and lower abdominal pain and discomfort. Doctors have found 2 large complex ovarian cysts which continue to grow in spite of attempts at hormonal therapy ( Zoladex) to shrink or stop their growth. One of the cysts is now 12 cm and is at high risk for causing serious complications such a rupture or ovarian torsion both of which can be life threatening.  In addition, my medical team is concerned that these ovarian masses may be malignant (cancerous) given the rapid growth and lack of response to medical therapy. Rupture of these potentially malignant ovarian cysts would be catastrophic .
I have been advised by my medical team that the best action would be early recourse to surgery which is a Staging and Debulking Laparotomy.
