Hello everyone, My name is David Archibald, and I'm reaching out because I need help pursuing a dream that has kept me going through some of the hardest years of my life. For a long time, I've wanted to build an online business of my own. Not because I wanted to become rich overnight, but because I wanted the opportunity to create stability for myself, support my family, and have control over my future. Unfortunately, life had other plans. Back in 2021, during the pandemic, I was working as a handyman when I suffered a serious accident and fractured my femur. In a single moment, everything changed. I went from being able to work, move around, and provide for myself to suddenly struggling with mobility, uncertainty, and questions I didn't know how to answer. At the time, I didn't know much about legal matters, insurance claims, or what steps I was supposed to take after an injury like this. I had nobody to guide me through the process, nobody to explain my options, and even something as simple as getting to appointments became a challenge. I've since taken steps to pursue legal action, and my case is still being reviewed, but these matters can take years to resolve. In the meantime, life doesn't stop. Bills still need to be paid, food still needs to be bought, and every day becomes another exercise in figuring out how to keep moving forward. Throughout all of this, my mother has been my biggest source of strength. She has her own health struggles, including complications from spinal surgery and visual impairment, yet she still found ways to care for me when I needed it most. Watching someone who already battles their own health challenges carry that burden for years has been difficult. She's done everything she could for me, but our resources have gradually been stretched thinner and thinner. I've applied for jobs, searched online, explored different opportunities, and done everything I can to find a path back to independence. But the reality is that many of the jobs available to me are physically demanding, and my injury has made returning to that kind of work incredibly difficult. There have been moments when it felt like life was standing still. But despite the setbacks, I never stopped believing that I could build something better. For years, I've wanted to start an online business because it offers something many traditional jobs no longer can: the chance to earn a living without relying entirely on physical labour. This business isn't just a business to me. It's a chance to reclaim my independence. It's a chance to support my mother after everything she has sacrificed for me. It's a chance to wake up each day knowing that our future isn't defined by injury, financial hardship, or circumstances beyond our control. I am seeking to raise TT$100,000 to help turn this dream into reality and provide the foundation needed to build a sustainable business.
