Hello Everyone, my name is Malachi Miggins, and I am 23 years old. I was born deaf and I’m asking you the public to help me reach my goal of hearing again by the end of the year (2026), with this goal in mind, I am trying to raise $100,000.00 (TTD) to cover the cost of a New Cochlear device, Mapping and other miscellaneous costs associated.At the age of 6, while attending Dretchi I was (1) of (2) chosen children to be the first to have a surgery completed for a Cochlear implant. This surgery being the first of its kind was a collaboration with the then Government and the Ministry of health, where Doctos from John Hopkins Hospital came down to complete the surgery which was successfully done in June 2009 at Mt Hope Children’s Hospital. Initially, this was to be an ongoing treatment but due to lack of follow-up and finical aid, by the then government. I was unable to maintain the upkeep of the device. So now, any hearing I once had has been completely lost, and I long for the day to hear my family’s voices again. Again, I am asking you to be part of the solution, as every contribution counts.
