Hello! My name is Anigdia Carrasco. I am forty-seven (47) years old and I am a venezuelan immigrant. I have been diagnosed with worsening and severe Menorrhagia and Dysmenorrhea, Menometrorrhagia with prolonged heavy and painful bleeding. What this means is that I have several large and painful fibroids and endmoterial polyps in my uteruses (I have two uteruses) which cause me lots of bleeding and pain. At times, the pain is so severe that I am completely unable to function during bleeding episodes that are made even worse with debilitating backpain.

I was hospitalised for this at the Scarborough General Hospital in Tobago, and in Sangre Grande, both institutions concluding the same: that I need a surgical operation, but that they cannot perform one on on me in the public health service due to the surgery being high risk and my status as an immigrant. The operation I need is an urgent Abdominal Hysterectomy to surgically remove the fibroids and endometrial polyps. However, my only option is to do it in the private sector, again due to my status as an immigrant.

The private sector is never a cheap one, and my procedure is made more costly due to the fact that I have two uteruses. With the hope of getting out of this situation, I visited the Hands International charitable medical initiative at the Community Hospital of Seventh-day Adventists in Trinidad on the 24th of July with the prayer that I could do the operation for free there. Unfortunately, despite their willingness to help, they also couldn't operate on me because the surgery is a high risk one. So I must use private practice. They did, however, recommend this service as they told me its very helpful for those who have needs but lack resources.

The donation goal - 40, 500 TTD (5, 961.53 USD) - matches the price estimate that I was given at the Medical Associates Hospital in St Joseph, the private practice willing to do my surgery. This cost is actually a generous discount, one I greatly and deeply appreciate, but still am unable to afford in a suitable time frame. So here I am, believing on your great kindness, pleading that you please help me to get out of this situation. It is truly important for me, not only because of my pain, but because my mother and daughter who remain in Venezuela depend on me and I cannot work and help them due to my condition.
