My name is Kimmy and I gave birth to a baby girl in November 2020. After the baby was born, doctors diagnosed her with having Atrial Septal Defect, a large Ventricular Septal Defect (two holes in her heart) and Coarctation of the Aorta (this means that part of the aorta is smaller than usual and can eventually lead to heart failure if not repaired). The aorta is the major artery which carries blood away from the heart to the rest of the body. This means that her heart is not functioning as it should and she would need corrective heart surgery to fix the defects. She constantly has to be monitored to ensure she doesn't have any problems breathing. She has to have this surgery soon. Heart surgery is very complicated and not mention expensive. Since this type of surgery is not available in Trinidad at the moment, it will have to be done abroad. Her life depends on it.

I am therefore pleading for any assistance to cover medical expenses. This will be life saving for my baby. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. A little goes a long way.
