Dear friends, this fundraiser is to help my elderly mother, Barbara Seales, age 82 years old who lives alone and was recently hospitalized for two weeks and diagnosed with Pancreatic pseudocysts, a collection of leaked pancreatic fluids, a heart murmur, and a infection causing inflammation to the aortic valve which allows blood to exit the heart, requiring further surgeries, treatment, and close monitoring. Barbara also suffers from underlying preexisting health issues such as, cataract surgeries in both eyes, lower back, spine, and disc surgery, type two diabetes, and high blood pressure, in which she presently take medications to manage. After her release from the hospital, she is now required to receive insulin injections instead of the previous pills for her diabetes, including additional prescription medications to treat her heart conditions. Due to her body adjusting to these new medications, she is now experiencing severe swelling to her feet and ankles which has hampered her efforts to walk, even for the simplest of tasks. At the age of 82, my mother is very independent and usually very vibrant, (styling her own hair, applying makeup, and dressing eloquently), and its heartbreaking to see her in such a fragile state. She is having difficulties with her medical expenses, purchasing various medications, paying rent and utilities, buying groceries, and basic personal necessities. Throughout the many years, I've witnessed my mother continuously helping countless individuals, with unconditional love, kindness, and generosity from her heart, regardless if it was a family member, friend, or complete stranger. Creating this campaign on her behalf is the least I can do to express my gratitude while she is still physically present with us, and to show my appreciation to her by saying, "thank you mommy, job well done!"
