Hi, my name is Brian Samaroo but my friends and relatives call me Caleb. I’m 28 years old and in 2020 I became legally blind and unable to earn an income on my own.
It all started in 2008, when doctors from Trinidad and Tobago notified me that my impaired vision (I wore glasses) was due to previous trauma to my right eye. I was advised to complete a corrective surgery which eventually left me blind in my right eye. From then I was only able to see clearly in my left eye however in 2020 I lost my glasses and this strain on my left eye caused additional trauma to occur in this eye, resulting in a detached retina. I was now totally visually impaired and unable to continue working in my job as a machinist.
After much investigation, I found a specialist who recommended I do some more corrective eye surgeries. Thus far I’ve completed one procedure and my aim is to raise enough funds to complete the four remaining surgeries.
My vision is a work in progress but I am grateful for each day I am able to experience this life. I do hope to one day see again and I believe with these surgeries I can make that dream a reality. Thank you I appreciate you for taking the time to understand my journey and if you are able to please share this fund.
