Our goal is to purchase and fit a prosthetic leg so Juliana can regain her mobility.

Juliana has been a dedicated team member at the Institute of Internal Auditors Trinidad and Tobago (IIA TT) for over 26 years. In late 2024, a small foot injury turned into a life-altering medical crisis. After being diagnosed with gangrene, she had to make the difficult decision to amputate first her toes, and later, her left leg above the knee — a decision that ultimately saved her life.

Now home and recovering, Juliana’s biggest challenge is mobility. She’s eager to regain her independence and resume daily activities.

Juliana has sourced a local prosthetics provider who quoted $35,000 for the limb. Including fitting, adjustments, and platform fees, her fundraising target is $48,000. Her health insurance covers only a small portion of this cost.
