Sapphire John is a Bishop Anstey Trinity College East Sixth Form (BATCE) student and is currently in Upper Six. She studies Entrepreneurship, Sociology, Physical Education and Caribbean Studies. She is also a student-athlete and runs for the Abilene Athletic Club. She recently came 2nd in the 200m and 400m U20 races at the National Secondary School Champs on 01/03/2023 while representing her school (BATCE).

It has always been Sapphire's dream to study abroad while doing track and field for her selected university. She applied to numerous schools in the US and received several academic and athletic offers. Sapphire has since committed to Niagara University, NY, where she has been offered a generous scholarship and a spot on their female track team. However, we need to raise $5,000 USD ($35,000 TTD) to cover the remaining expenses towards student insurance and other miscellaneous fees. She intends to begin in Fall 2023.

Sapphire plans to study Business with a minor in Information Systems based on her passion for entrepreneurship and technology. Her strong interest in these areas has been seen in the couple of side hustles she did while using technology. Moreover, she hopes that at the end of her experience abroad, she can help further develop her country of Trinidad and Tobago and support her family.
