Welcome to the Spring Garden Moravian Church, a place of Spiritual refreshing!

Located on the beautiful Island of Tobago, our Church was established in 1851 and possesses a rich history. Built over the ruins of an old sugar factory, the old Church / School building served the Moravian Church and wider community as a sanctuary, school, community centre and general meeting place for many years. Responding to the community’s needs for more space, the new sanctuary was built in 1963.

173 years after being established, the Church’s mission remains the same: “To spread the Good News of God and to impact our community at their point of need.”

In our community, boys and girls need to be engaged in activities that will develop their life skills but also grow their spiritual lives. Youths need to be guided on how to navigate identity confusion, teenage issues and their spirituality. Men and women need training on how to build and maintain healthy relationships with each other and how to cope with life’s challenges. Persons also need food support and activities that empower them towards self-sufficiency. These are just a few but our community’s needs are endless!

With this in mind, the Spring Garden Moravian Church has embarked on a project to expand the current sanctuary. We also began the preliminary process to restore the old Church / School building. Once both structures are completed, the Spring Garden Moravian Church will be better positioned as a robust hub to impact the multiple needs of our community.

The expansion project is 75% complete and the old Church / School building has to be fully restored. To achieve our goal, we are seeking to raise the required monies to complete both projects. We have held several fundraisers including soup sales, corn sales, movie nights and offerings but we still need more funds! We need your help!
