My name is Sarai-ann Forde. I am 17 years old and possess the intention of going to college and studying screenwriting. As a young girl, I was inspired to write after growing up watching Disney, Dreamworks, Pixar, and many other studios that brought captivating works. After witnessing and falling victim to the excitement and ecstasy these movies and shows bring to their viewers I realized that I also wanted to spread that happiness myself. I was raised in Febeau village, Laventille Road, San Juan. Many of my childhood memories lived there, and even now as I grow older.

My passion for writing began in primary school where I wrote my first ever story, "One Crazy Semester." Although it never had a proper ending I was already looking forward to seeing it premiere on the big screens, watched by millions. My friends were even willing to play the role of my characters and help me shape the story by adding suspense and drama, as though we were in an actual studio, shooting the movie. It was a thrilling moment for me and I am now sure that this is what I want to be. Therefore, I gave it my best and studied as hard as I could. I graduated from San Juan South Secondary with exceptional results which motivated me to keep pushing for what I desired. Dreaming big is what I do and for me, it is not enough to attend a university in my home country. Instead, I desire to study closer to where screenwriting originated, introduce my ideas to a world of innovators and commence the journey that awaits. America is where screenwriting thrives and that is where I aspire to be.

On November 11, 2023, at 11:37 PM, I was sent an email confirming that I had been accepted to Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. My acceptance proves that I have been given the chance to achieve my dream, but I cannot do this on my own. With your help, I can become a first-generation college graduate and well-known Trinidadian screenwriter. My parents have done more than enough to ensure I receive a good education and everything else I need, however, college is a humungous leap outside of their budget, especially in the great U.S. A. Nevertheless, their support is abundant and they are trying their hardest to help me reach this goal. With your generous donations, I can attend college and work hard to become a screenwriter.
