IMPORTANT NOTICE:
YOUR CARD STATEMENT WILL SHOW AS BLUE GURUZ INC.
Hi everyone,
This is a very vulnerable experience for me, so please bare with me.
My name is Tayler and for the past 10 years, I've been an amputee. In 2014, I was accepted into a University in Australia and tried to figure out how I'd get there when the unthinkable happened.
I was hospitalised, with a diagnosis of Lupus SLE and Protein S Deficiency. This diagnosis catapulted me into a 5-month stay between the Eric Williams Medical Science Complex and Port of Spain General due to several factors including a blood clot which formed in my left foot.
At the time, I was 20, went where I wanted, supported my family when I could and had a completely different outlook on my life, unfortunately, the blood clot resulted in a below-the-knee amputation and everything changed from there.
Pivoting in life isn't easy, but thus far, I've done the best that I can with amazing support systems. Thankfully, through the support of my family, I was able to receive a below-the-knee prosthetic as well as through the Prime Minister's golf charity in 2015, I've been able to maintain my prosthesis.
With the maintenance of this prosthesis, I've been able to work, travel, and do various recreational activities such as Golf, Zipline, paintballing and acting.
While I'm in the process of applying for the prosthetic grant I am also trying to raise additional funds on my own. With each contribution and show of support, you become an integral part of my journey. Your contribution and support would mean the world.
