The DATT is a charitable non-governmental organization with the mission of helping those affected by diabetes through education, advocacy, screening and research. All of our services that we provide are free or at cost price for everyone to access. We depend on persons like you to support our work. Help us help you #helpDATT.
The DATT provides FREE screening services across the country for organizations, at events and at our branches. We also provide subsidised point-of-care A1c and Lipid panels. Help support these programs. We need your help to purchase strips and other consumables to offer more testing in your community.
Our main screening activities:
1. Diabetes Attention Centre at the DATT Head Office in Chaguanas. We offer free blood pressure, blood sugar and body anthropometrics checks. We offer free Diabetes Eye Screening (Retinopathy), Foot Screening and Nutritional Counselling. Soon to come: Dental and Psychological services. HbA1c and Lipids panels (cholesterol)are offered to clients at cost price.
2. Outreach services - We are there when we are needed. One of our teams are dispatched to any location in Trinidad & Tobago to perform blood sugar and blood pressure screening. Diabetes counselling, diabetes lectures and educational workshops can also be requested. We are there at companies, events, health facilities or in public spaces. This is a FREE service to members of the public. We need your help to support our volunteers.
3. Rural Outreach- We know that there are many persons in T&T who may live in rural communities which are far away from public health facilities. We are coming to you ! We are planning outreaches in your communities. We will provide free screening, educational sessions, and fun activities for communities in need.
