RE: Withholding of Graduation Certificate / Tuition Debt Relief
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to address a matter that weighs heavily on my mind and has become a significant challenge for me to manage regarding the recent discovery of a significant debt of $10,640.00 attributed to my account at The University of Trinidad and Tobago. This unexpected financial burden has left me in a state of distress and uncertainty about my ability to live a fulfilling life.
As a graduate of The University of Trinidad and Tobago with a Bachelor of Education with specialization in Special Needs and Primary Education, I am grateful for the education and opportunities provided to me. However, I find myself in a difficult financial situation, where my certificate is being withheld because of outstanding tuition fees.
Upon further investigation, I have identified that this debt has accrued due to the neglect in processing my documents at GATE (Government Assistance for Tuition Expenses) for financial aid. As a responsible student who diligently submitted the required paperwork within the specified deadlines, I am troubled by the oversight that has led to this substantial financial liability.
Unfortunately, I am currently facing substantial financial hardships that make it incredibly difficult for me to meet my tuition obligations. Due to unforeseen circumstances [divorce, losing my home and business, HDC payments, pre-existing loans, family emergencies, etc.], I have encountered unexpected financial burdens that have left me struggling to make ends meet.
I am deeply committed to my dream of inclusive education for all children with varied abilities and understand the importance of fulfilling my financial obligations. However, given my current circumstances, I am unable to secure an interview with the Ministry of Education without my certificate to verify my qualifications and need significant assistance to attain my certificate.
Therefore, I am kindly requesting your consideration for debt relief or alternative assistance that would help alleviate the burden of my tuition expenses.
Furthermore, I would appreciate your assistance in identifying additional sources of financial aid or scholarships.
I assure you that this request is not made lightly. However, I believe that your financial assistance, network or connections will provide me with the breathing room I need to navigate this challenging period and continue pursuing my academic goals.
I am more than willing to provide any documentation or additional information necessary to support my request. Furthermore, I am open to discussing potential solutions that would be mutually beneficial for both parties.
Your attention to this issue is crucial to my academic success and well-being, and I sincerely hope for a timely resolution.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. I eagerly await your response and assistance in resolving this urgent matter.
Warm regards,
Keenah Vanhanegin
