My name is Alyssa Marcelle I am currently a year one student at the University of the West Indies pursuing my Bsc. in Psychology.

I have always had a passion for learning and education.
At the primary school level I was valedictorian of my graduating class,
At Secondary School I graduated with 8 CXC passes.
After secondary school, I realized that mental health and wellness is something that I am interested in learning more about and that my career goal is to become a Psychologist.
With that in mind, I completed an Associates degree in Psychology. After completing that, I got accepted to do my Bsc in Psychology at UWI and have made the deans list at UWI in my first semester. I’m currently holding a cumulative gpa of 3.8 and I am expected to graduate in May 2024

Becoming a psychologist is not just another job to me, psychology is my passion and I have a burning desire to help people, particularly those who need mental health assistance. I feel that this population is often ignored and I would love to be part of and make a real change in the mental health system.

To become a psychologist, one must have at least a masters degree in psychology, and so after I complete my bachelors, I am planning to do a masters degree in clinical psychology. UWI Trinidad and Tobago has suspended their MSc. Clinical Psychology Programme so I am looking to enroll at university’s abroad, particularly universities in the UK for the fall semester 2024

The average price for an international student like myself is around £30,000 that translates to TT$300,000 which I am trying to attain, but I’m not able to meet the full amount as a I am a full time student. My mother is a single mother who works very hard to support me but $300,000 is a large sum of money for her to raise by herself.
I am therefore kindly asking for any donation in order to pursue my dreams so I can further help the mental health care system in Trinidad and Tobago.
