I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to you from a place of deep vulnerability, during one of the hardest seasons of my life. My home, of 56 years, that holds a lifetime of memories, is now in great need of repairs. I’m overwhelmed with urgent needs I simply cannot meet alone.

Right now, my greatest worries are not only for myself but also for my two beloved pets who are sick and need veterinary care. Feeding us, covering unpaid bills, and making necessary repairs to my aging home feel like mountains I cannot climb without help.

I have set a goal of $41,500 to cover these urgent and essential needs, including:

• Groceries and pet food — $5,500: Food is the foundation of life, and without it, every day feels uncertain.

• Veterinary care for my two sick pets — $6,000: They are family, and seeing them unwell breaks my heart.

• Unpaid bills and debts — $5,900: These keep piling up and threaten the basic utilities that keep my home livable.

• Urgent home repairs — $24,100: The fencing has collapsed, electrical issues create hazards, the shower fixtures are rotted, the water tank leaks, louvres are broken and faulty, the concrete ground and drains need to cast over, and the lawn is overgrown. My home needs powerwashing and sanitizing to be safe and comfortable again.

This home has sheltered me through countless moments of joy and hardship, and it breaks my heart to see it in this state.
