IMPORTANT NOTICE:
YOUR CARD STATEMENT WILL SHOW AS BLUE GURUZ INC.
Since entering the bridal and formal wear arena in 2014, my independent brand Van der Vlugt has become synonymous with the word 'bridal' in Trinidad & Tobago. As a result of this, I am so honoured and privileged to be the 2019 recipient of a Caribbean Style & Culture Awards Award of Excellence. As an awardee, I have been invited to showcase a runway collection of my work.
Much of the custom work I do for my clients involves their vision alongside my input, and I have chosen to use this opportunity and invitation to present the first bridal collection that is truly VdV, 100% within my personal and brand aesthetic and artistic vision. This will be the first runway I have done since moving into this arena five years ago and I would really like to make an impact and a statement as a designer from the Caribbean and a representative of Trinidad & Tobago, showcasing my work in the United States for the first time. For anyone who is familiar with my brand and process, it involves a lot of intricate detailing and handstitching, requiring many hours of time and attention alongside my custom clients.
I would be so grateful and honoured if you would help me bring this vision to life as I embark on completing the collection that a VdV bride deserves and would be proud to wear, and stepping out as the fashion artist I have become in this journey. Funds raised would assist in materials and finishing of the collection - I design, construct and embellish everything myself - as well as travel and living expenses to and from DC in June 2019 during my time there. VdV will be presenting to an esteemed lineup of guests, including the First Ladies of Haiti and Guyana. Any assistance you can give towards making this vision a reality would be so very much appreciated!
God bless you :)
