. Family and friends are raising funds on behalf of university student, Miss Ambika Ali. The purpose of collecting these donations is to assist in funding her college degree. As a reward for persistent hard work and discipline, Miss Ali was accepted into the Aircraft Engineering, Maintenance and Management degree offered by the University of Trinidad and Tobago. As you may or may not know, GATE funding provided by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, have recently changed their policies regarding funding. The new policy states “Students will only be eligible for one (1) undergraduate programme”. Miss Ali completed the N1 Certificate Program offered by the University of the West Indies in 2017, due to this, she is not eligible to access any more funding. Miss Ali is self-funding this degree by applying for a part-time job and raising funds. Her father, age fifty-eight (58) ,in the past has taken multiple loans for her education, has now exhausted his borrowing options. In May 2021, he unfortunately contracted the Covid-19 virus and is convalescing at a slow rate. Her mother is currently unemployed but sold doubles and pies before the pandemic. The total cost of the tuition is $120,000 excluding textbooks and study materials. If the sum cost required cannot be met, the only option would be to withdraw from the University. Any contribution would be immeasurably appreciated and instrumental.
