In October of 2022, my father, Augustine Granado, faced a life-threatening crisis when he began experiencing the symptoms of a heart attack. With a history of heart ailments and the challenges of receiving timely attention at the public hospital, we made the decision to rush him to the Emergency Department of the Private Hospital, where I am employed.

In the emergency room, I witnessed the terrifying moment when his heart stopped beating. It was a moment that still haunts me to this day. The dedicated nurses on duty, along with the attending doctor, my mother, and myself, did everything we could to assist, and eventually, they managed to regain a faint heartbeat. Given his critical condition and medical history, the cardiologist recommended an emergency Coronary Angioplasty and Stent Insertion.

The total cost of this life-saving procedure, including his hospital stay, amounted to a staggering $168,470.00. Thankfully, with the generous consent of Hospital, we were able to proceed with the understanding that we would pay a monthly installment of $10,000.00, starting from November 2022.

Over the past year, my husband, sister, father, and I have worked tirelessly to pay off a significant portion of this bill, totaling $114,240.00. However, we are now faced with a remaining balance of $54,230. This is where we need your help urgently.

The strain of this debt has placed an immense financial strain on me. I have my own financial responsibilities, including rent, car payments, and loans. My sister, a single parent of three, is also burdened with her own expenses. Unfortunately, my father, a senior citizen, does not have medical insurance, and his monthly medical bills average between $3,000 to $4,000. With the burden of ensuring that he has medication which is unavailable via CDAP, and having to pay the monthly installments, has placed our family in a significant financial hardship.
