TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

My name is Jillian Gray-Reid; I am a single mom of three (3) kids. I am writing this letter asking for assistance for my son. My last son Nathan Reid age 5 who was diagnosed with myelomeningocele. He had a surgery 4hrs after birth to repaired the spinal defect. After the surgery my son lost movement from his knee go down. A week after another surgery was needed due to excess amount or fluid in his brains and he end up developing Hydrocephalus. He had an VP shunt put in to take the fluid out of his brain and moving it to his abdomen. Unfortunately, two months' after he got an infection caused by the shunt and had to undergo another surgery to get the shunt out before the infection reached to his brains. During these time my son lost control over his bladder and bowel, and experiencing sight swelling in his left kidney. My son also has clubfoot and doctors have advance me to get the surgery done to fix it before it gets worst. Doing this surgery will help my son. It will also make it easy for him to wear shoes as normal child. His surgery is dated for the 2nd of November 2021 at Princess Elizabeth Hospital Port of Spain. The surgery is costing $ 2400; he also has to get an covid test at a lab recommended by the hospital costing $ 900. Which makes it $ 3300 all together.
